Philanthropy

From the time of our founding, Alpha Delta Pi has believed in the importance of giving back to our community. A dedication to philanthropy guides our members to spend time in the service of those who need it most. Our international organization’s commitment to Ronald McDonald House Charities has led to the donation of over $15,000,000 over the course of our partnership. More than 350 Ronald McDonald Houses in 64 countries help keep families with seriously ill or injured children together when they need it most by offering them a comfortable, temporary residence in proximity to a medical facility.

The Ronald McDonald House Charities

- - The goal of RMHC is to keep families close to their children who are hospitalized at a local children’s hospital. RMHC provide meals, comfort, and a sense of community for families who have a sick child. We are able to help provide a home for a tiny cost because hotels may not be affordable for long periods of time.

RMHC of the Bluegrass is exactly one mile from ADPi’s front door!

- - Our close proximity to RMHC gives us the opportunity to be hands on there. We are able to prepare dinner for families, bake cookies, host events, clean rooms, write ‘thank you’ cards, and complete many other tasks at the house EVERY week. It is very special that we are able to make connections with the residents and directly witness the impact we make on each families’ lives.

Alpha Delta Pi nationally is the 2nd largest donor to RMHC, right behind McDonalds!

PHILANTHROPIC ACHIEVEMENTS:

+ In 2016, Alpha Delta Pi donated $68,000 to the Ronald McDonald House through The Main Event

Spring Philanthropy Event

Donate For A Date is Alpha Delta Pi’s largest philanthropic event as it celebrates its second year in Spring of 2019. This event allows its attendees to bid on a date with the profits of this bidding going to Ronald McDonald House Charities. As a new event it has earned its place alongside our older fundraisers as it successfully raised $12,000 for Ronald McDonald House Charities in its first year as our Spring philanthropy event. Alpha Delta Pi plans to host its third annual Donate For A Date event in the Fall of 2020.

ONE MORE

This is our newest event co-hosted with Pi Kappa Alpha! We created a 26 day marathon that you could walk, run, or bike during the COVID-19 quarantine! It was a way to keep people active and raise money for RMHC during these difficult times!

ROSES FOR RONALD

This event takes place on Valentine’s Day on the ADPi front lawn. We sell roses and have cardstock for you to write a card to your loved ones!

PIE A PI

This event is co-hosted with Pi Beta Phi in which other chapters and students on campus can pay $5 for a pie and choose any member to pie in the face – all for a good cause!

THESE HANDS DON’T HAZE

In the Fall of 2019, Alpha Delta Pi and Sigma Chi joined teams to launch a campaign for the Max Gruver Foundation to sponsor Hazing Prevention Week.

Both Sigma Chi and Alpha Delta Pi sold donuts outside the Alpha Delta Pi house promoting “These Hands Donut Haze”. Chapters throughout campus donated to the foundation and we were able to donate $800 to the cause.
