University of Kentucky

Recruitment

As members of the fraternity/sorority community, Alpha Delta Pi is proud to welcome those who want to enhance their college experience as part of something bigger. We select and maintain membership on the basis of scholarship, leadership, commitment, and service to the work of the sorority, the university, and the community. Alpha Delta Pi actively encourages a membership which represents a diverse population and does not discriminate in membership selection procedures. Come home to Alpha Delta Pi and find women who are true and loyal, just like our blue and white colors represent. ADPi sisters are leaders and visionaries. We are SGA senators, artists, student athletes, and scholars. We are committed to sisterhood, values and ethics, high academic standards, and social responsibility. We committed to those when we established the first secret society for collegiate women in 1851 at the first university chartered to grant degrees to women. We are committed to them still today.

Dear Potential New Members,

On behalf of the sisters of Alpha Delta Pi, I would like to welcome you to the University of Kentucky, and the greatest four years of your life.  I could not be more thrilled that you have chosen to participate in Formal Recruitment 2020. I can assure you that your decision to become involved with Greek life at the University of Kentucky will provide you with an unbelievable amount of opportunities for academic success, leadership, and philanthropy- all while building treasured friendships!

Formal Recruitment is an incredible experience. First, during Open House round, you will get the chance to visit each sorority on campus. You will be meeting amazing chapter members at each house, and even more importantly, we will be getting to know you! Following Open House, there will be a Philanthropy round, dedicated to showing you how we, as members of Alpha Delta Pi, enrich not only the lives of our members, but those in need as well. On this day, we are able to share our commitment to volunteering in both our community, and with our international philanthropy, the Ronald McDonald House Charities. As the week progresses, you will also have the opportunity to experience our sisterhood, as we show you the friendships and traditions that tie our sisters together. Finally, as Formal Recruitment draws to an end, we will host our Preference ceremony, showcasing what it truly means to be a sister of Alpha Delta Pi.

Although this week may seem overwhelming, I can assure you it will be one of the most memorable weeks of your college experience. Joining a sorority truly makes your transition to college so much easier. My advice to you is simple: relax and be confident in yourself, because there is a home for everyone here at UK.

It is hard for me to believe that my years as an Alpha Delta Pi at UK are coming to an end, but I am thankful every single day that I found my home away from home here.

I encourage you to visit the UK Panhellenic website for more information about the Formal Recruitment process and how to register.

I absolutely cannot wait to meet you this August!

Sincerely,

Nicole McCloud
